Donate your old phone and protect the gorilla

In the African rainforests, gorillas are losing more and more habitat. A major cause is the construction of coltan mines. Coltan is a mineral that is indispensable for making smartphones. By turning in your used mobile phone, we can reuse valuable raw materials such as coltan. This way, you contribute to the protection of gorillas and support Stichting Wildlife with the proceeds from your phone.

Two good deeds with one phone

When you drop off your used cell phone at AquaZoo reception, you make a difference on two fronts. First, Stichting Wildlife receives a contribution for each phone. These proceeds support more than 30 projects worldwide that work to protect endangered species.

In addition, all phones are sustainably recycled. Smartphones contain valuable materials such as coltan and gold. To extract these raw materials, rainforests in Africa are cut down and roads and mines are built. This not only leads to loss of habitat for gorillas and other animals, but also increases the risk of poaching.

By turning in your old phone, these materials can be reused. This way, we reduce the need for new mining and you actively contribute to a livable future for the gorilla. So take another look in your closet or attic and turn in your phone. Thank you very much for your support!
