The birth of the foundation

Stichting Vrienden Safaripark Beekse Bergen was founded in 1985 to prevent the imminent closure of the park. Fortunately, Beekse Bergen was soon taken over by Libéma. The members then decided to become involved in educating nature lovers and financially supporting conservation projects. In 2004, Dierenrijk (now Eindhoven Zoo) opened and in 2015, ZooParc Overloon and AquaZoo Leeuwarden also joined Libéma. The foundation is now active in all four parks, which is why the name has been changed to Stichting Wildlife.
