About the Tyrannosaurus rex

You probably know this dino! In dinofilms, Tyrannosaurus rex is often the big culprit and for good reason! With a length of 12 meters and weight of 6000 kilos, he was one of the largest and most fearsome dinosaurs! He was so strong that he could overpower (almost) any other animal. His enormous jaws had room for at least 50 powerful teeth. The largest teeth, some as large as 18 centimeters, could deliver a deadly bite. With its biting power, T. rex ensured that it could shred/crack the bones of even large dinosaurs.

Did you know

  • T. rex has been found with bite marks from a conspecific on its neck?

  • T. rex's skin was covered with scales? Some scientists think that, in some areas of his body, he also had feathers. These would not have been many because of the risk of overheating!
