Appearance

The name of this species has everything to do with its appearance. It is easily recognized by its yellow breast along with the yellow shoulders and belly. Thereby, they are named after the monastic order of Capuchins because of the markings on their heads.

Buff-headed capuchin are big lubbers! They smear their own urine all over their hands and feet so they can mark territory. They are very social monkeys that you will often see them fleecing. They do this not necessarily to clean each other up but this makes for close friendships and less tension in the group.
