Experienced diver

The Baers white-eared duck looks for its food underwater. It dives completely under water
looking for fish, insects, worms and aquatic plants. It can spend about 40 seconds
remain underwater. Sometimes the Bers white-eared duck dives as deep as two meters in search of
to his food.

Caring mother

Males and females of the Baers white-eared duck seek each other out in winter. In
spring, the female makes a nest. After mating, the male leaves and
the female incubates the eggs. She single-handedly raises the chicks.
