Children free of charge to AquaZoo with pake and beppe

AquaZoo is all about family during spring break. From Monday, February 17 to Friday, February 21, children up to and including 15 years of age may enter for free with their pake, beppe or another paying adult. During this day out, they learn about nature conservation and indirectly contribute to it.

Jeroen Loomeijer, general manager of AquaZoo: "With the Pake & Beppe Action we want to give families the opportunity to discover nature together and learn about the importance of nature conservation. By introducing children to animals and their habitats at a young age, we hope to contribute to greater awareness. And how nice is it to do that together with grandparents?" This action follows on from "Help pake & beppe through the vacations!", an initiative originally organized from the museum association because many children are with their grandparents during spring break.

AquaZoo also has animals representing multiple generations within a species. Polar bear Felix, for example, is primeval pake: the great-grandfather of several descendants who now live in various zoos in Europe. This is important for the survival of this species, which is seriously threatened in the wild.

Caring for nature together

AquaZoo is committed to nature conservation in several ways. Loomeijer: "We contribute to species conservation of endangered species through participation in European management programs. Through our collaboration with the Wildlife Foundation, we support international conservation projects, but we are also committed to preserving local nature in the area. Moreover, we consider research and education important, in order to increase knowledge about animals and nature, thus preserving them for future generations."

Practical information

Pakes and beppes, or another adult, may bring two children per person upon presentation of their purchased entrance ticket.
