Ship ahoy! What is coming towards us? They are pirates and they are boarding PIRATE BAY in AquaZoo Leeuwarden! From April 3 to May 5 changes AquaZoo into a pirate paradise and the area around the Beach Club in PIRATE BAY. A playful, colorful, and adventurous place full of pirates, mermaids, ships, and animals. All built from Bricks building blocks, where you can even stand on some of the sculptures for a great photo. All pirate figures in AquaZoo are entirely made of Bricks! From the eye patch to the sword, every detail is meticulously assembled with thousands of tiny stones. For a single figure, sometimes 5,000 to 10,000 stones are used, and it takes a team of several creative builders weeks of work to make everything fit perfectly. The result? A tough, colorful pirate world that comes to life in the smallest details.

Construction of the cannon
The cannon, made up of no less than 32,336 Bricks pieces, is the result of the meticulous work of three builders. Together they spent 122 hours placing each piece exactly in the right spot. The impressive result can be admired during Pirates in the Zoo in AquaZoo, where visitors can see the cannon in the park itself. In the video, you get a behind-the-scenes look and see how the cannon comes to life step by step.

During Pirates in the Zoo, the area at the Beach Club is transformed into PIRATE BAY. In addition to all pirate activities and pirate images, you can also get a sandwich, drink, or sweet treat here.
