White-necked cranes form pairs for life. The difference between males and females is almost impossible to see, but can be heard. The female slaps short and rapid cries, while the man makes long low tones.
Like many other crane species, White-naped crane also dance around each other to seduce each other. Both within and outside the mating season, the danced to strengthen the bond between them. When dancing, they bow, jump and they call out to each other.
